Danspiration Center, Inc. is a Comprehensive Dance and Movement Enrichment program that promotes, encourages, and inspires students of all ages to build confidence, self esteem, and body image while developing artistic skills through the use of Dance Technique and Performance Dance,
Therapeutic Movement, Dance/Movement Therapy, and Liturgical Dance.
The purpose of the program is to prescribe a dance and movement program that concentrates on the specific needs and desires of each individual student. The word 'Danspiration' is a combination of the words 'Dance and Inspiration' which dictates the mission of the program. What makes the Danspiration Center unique is all that it has to offer. Not just a typical dance studio, Danspiration Center, Inc. will offer three different components of dance; Dance Education, Therapeutic Dance and Liturgical Dance: all tailored to the needs of the individual.
About
Mrs. Gloria L. Chatman, founder of Danspiration Center Inc., is a woman truly accomplished in her own rite. Along with being obedient to the God-given vision to form the Apostolic Church of God Liturgical Dance Ministry in January 1992, she has also attained many other accolades that add to her overall character.
Mrs. Chatman has been married for over twenty years to her loving and supportive husband Demetrius Chatman. This union has produced three beautiful daughters that not only have the gift of dance, like their mother, they also have the gift of song. When I think about how instrumental Mrs. Chatman is in regards to her family, I am reminded of Proverbs 31:10-31 'Praise of a virtuous woman.
Education, as we all know, is key to accomplishing not only your life's dreams but also your goals. Knowing this, Mrs. Chatman acquired her BS degree in both Dance Education and Art Education. From there she moved on to graduate with a MA degree in Dance/Movement Therapy. Mrs. Chatman is currently a Registered Dance/Movement Therapist and is a member of the American Dance Therapy Association.
With a total of forty years worth of dance experience, Mrs. Chatman continues to expound upon her gift of dance. Mrs. Chatman is the Executive Director of the Danspiration Center, Inc. located in Matteson, IL. Just recently, to add to her many accomplishments, Mrs. Chatman voted to be included in Marquis 'Who's Who of American Women'. Mrs. Chatman's biography is included in the 2008-2009 Commemorative 50th Anniversary edition of 'Who's Who of American Women'.
In all, Mrs. Gloria L. Chatman has achieved many of her goals and dreams. As Mrs. Chatman continues to move forward in/with her commitment to Danspiration Center Inc., as well as the Apostolic Church of God Liturgical Dance Ministry, there is one thing that I know for sure: with each breathe and step, Mrs. Gloria L. Chatman will always give the ultimate praise unto God in the form of a Jubilee through Dance….
